FlackList, the Journalist’s Little Black Book, today unveiled a new look and new features that give media, brand PR representatives and experts a one-stop shop to connect.
Media have long been waiting for an easy way to find and keep track of a brand PR contact or expert source. FlackList’s searchable database of brand press rooms and pre-screened, qualified experts is the answer.
FlackList’s new features include:
Launched in beta in early 2011, FlackList was created by a group of PR professionals and journalists fed up with the lack of resources to available to connect media with brands and trusted expert sources.
“As a PR pro, I’ve witnessed enough frustration among media when trying to get in touch with the right PR representative for a brand,” said Jennifer Nichols, CEO of FlackList. “There are resources that help media find the right journalist but nothing that works the other way around. Creating FlackList was a no brainer. We know media want a tool like this and brands and experts should want to make it easy for journalists to connect with them, access their latest news, etc.”
A recent study by TEKGroup International reported that nearly 100 percent of journalists surveyed said newsrooms are a must. The study also found that size doesn’t matter as 87 percent of journalists surveyed said they visit both large and small-to-medium sized organization online newsrooms. Additionally, 99 percent of journalists said it’s important to be able to access news releases within online newsrooms. Lastly, 78 percent of journalists said it’s important to access links to a company’s social media sites within the newsroom and 75 percent said access to videos is important.
These findings support FlackList’s mission to provide media access to brands’ communication teams, news, experts, social channels and more. FlackList is free to use with premium paid offerings available. To join, sign up here.
